Flickr is a site which offers a variety of images from a diverse range of subject matter.
Flickr is a valuable resource for use in a public Library because customers can upload images to their blogs and web pages which facilitates communication and contact within the global community. Images are open to interpretation and convey alot of information; "A picture paints a thousand words".
It does concern me that kids can upload pictures, individuals pictures can be uploaded without that persons consent, types of photos available (porn) and the fact that pictures are out there for every one to see if the security procedures are not understood.
With regards to my choice of image - the Eiffel Tower - I have chosen this to show my excitement of my family's upcoming holiday to Europe. To me it represents the the modern side of Europe and how advanced the achetecture was in its time; just like the internet is ahead of it's time.
