I have never been a really big fan of YouTube or any other computer video system. This session has only reinforced my dislike ot this media.
I found that YouTube and the Google site were flooded with useless clips and that even if you have a specific interest like 'lego' there is just to much junk to search thru to find anything worthwhile.
I can see by watching the examples given that it can be used for more educational purposes such as orientations, guides, promotion and reviews. Unfortunately if your system does not have the most up to date computer running packages then accessing these clips is a labourious task.
I agree that in a work or library environment, where the computer programs are current, that there could be opportunities to use video. From a customer point of view, I believe, that most patrons want to access library information at home, which with video is not always easy, fast or practical.
Overall I found this session to be disappointing.
